AMC Exam Eligibility Requirements

Primary Medical Qualification
To be eligible for AMC examinations, you must hold a primary medical qualification that:
- 1.Is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS)
- 2.Is recognized by the medical regulatory authority in the country where it was awarded
- 3.Entitled you to practice medicine (after internship) in that country
Primary Source Verification (PSV)
Your qualifications must be verified through ECFMG's EPIC (Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials) system. This process verifies your medical degree directly with your medical school.
Clinical Experience Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- 12 months supervised clinical practice
Internship or equivalent post-graduate clinical training
- Experience in major clinical areas
Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Emergency/Acute care
- Supervised by qualified medical practitioners
Training must be under supervision of registered/licensed doctors
English Language Requirements
You must demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following:
IELTS Academic
in each band (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing)
OET
in each component (minimum 350)
PTE Academic
in each communicative skill
Exemptions
You may be exempt if you completed your primary medical qualification in English in a recognized English-speaking country (UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, or South Africa).
